PureWick Catheter for Non-Invasive Urine Management for Women
The PureWick Female External Catheter by BD offers a simple, non-invasive solution for managing urinary incontinence in female patients. Using low-pressure wall suction with the urine collection system, it effectively wicks urine away from the body into a designated collection canister, helping keep skin dry and reducing the risk of moisture-related skin issues.
Designed with patient comfort in mind, the PureWick catheter features a soft, flexible fabric that adds comfort during external catheterization. Its one-size-fits-most design allows for use in various positions, including lying down, seated, or asleep, making it suitable for a range of care settings from hospitals to home care.
By providing an external alternative to indwelling catheters, the PureWick system helps reduce the risk of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), thereby promoting better health outcomes and enhancing patient dignity.
Each catheter is intended for single-patient use and should be replaced every 8 to 12 hours or if soiled. The product is not made with natural rubber latex, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions.
Two Options
- Flex: Redesigned with bendable tubing to contour and flex to the female anatomy. Soft, flexible fabric covers a mult-layer wick to keep the skin feeling dry.
- Original: This design is straight with a slight curve that is non-bendable. It also features soft, flexible fabric for comfort.
