How to use BD Nano Pen Needles?
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the insulin pen and needle
- Choose the injection site, rotating between different areas to avoid overuse of one particular area
- Common injection sites include the abdomen, upper arms, thighs, and buttocks
- Screw the Ultra-Fine Nano Pen Insulin Needle onto the insulin pen, following the manufacturer’s instructions
- Prime the pen by dialing up a small amount of insulin and expelling it through the needle into the air. This ensures that the needle is properly attached and that there are no air bubbles in the insulin
- Pinch the skin at the injection site to create a small fold, and insert the needle at a 90-degree angle. Press the plunger on the pen to inject the insulin. Hold the pen in place for a few seconds to ensure that all of the insulin has been delivered
- Remove the needle from the injection site and dispose of it properly in a sharps container. Do not reuse needles or share them with others
- Store the insulin pen and needles according to the manufacturer’s instructions, typically at room temperature and away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
