How to use K-Shield Advantage Safety Winged Blood Collection Sets?
- Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water to prevent the spread of germs.
- Choose the appropriate site for venipuncture and make sure the patient is comfortable and relaxed.
- Clean the selected site with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
- Assemble the Blood Drawing Kit, making sure to follow the instructions provided with the kit.
- If needed, apply the tourniquet to the upper arm to help locate the vein.
- Insert the needle into the vein at the selected site, being sure to follow the instructions provided with the kit.
- Allow the blood to flow into the collection tubes or other containers provided in the kit.
- Once the blood sample has been collected, remove the needle from the vein and apply pressure to the site with a cotton ball or gauze.
- Dispose of the used needles, tubes, and other medical waste in a safe and appropriate manner.
