Steps to Use iFOB Test Kit
Sampling Steps for Patients
STEP ONE: Obtain stool for sampling
Deposit the fecal sample on collection paper or in a clean cup.
STEP TWO: Collect small samples
- Unscrew the sampler from the collection tube.
- With the fecal sample still on collection paper, randomly insert the grooved end of the sampler into the fecal sample in at least six different sites.
- Insert the sampler into the collection tube and firmly tighten it. Do not reopen.
- Shake the tube vigorously to mix the sample and the extraction buffer
STEP THREE: Return the sample for testing
- Place the collection tube into a plastic bag with an absorbent pad and place the bag into a mailing envelope.
- Seal the envelope, add postage, and mail it to your doctor or laboratory.
Interpretation Steps for Clinicians
- Quicker results mean quicker detection.
- Shake the collection tube vigorously for 20-30 seconds to ensure the sample is well mixed with buffer.
- Remove the test device from the foil pouch.
- Tap the collection tube on a hard surface to dislodge any trapped air on top of the cap.
- Invert the tube several times. Unscrew the tip cap on the collection tube.
- Holding the tube vertically above the sample well on the cassette, squeeze the tube gently to dispense three drops into the sample well.
- Read the result in 5 to 10 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.
