How to use Molnlycke Exufiber Dressing?
- Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
- Choose the correct size of dressing to be able to cover the entire wound. For best result, Exufiber should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 1–2 cm for smaller product sizes, (up to 10×10 cm) and 5 cm for larger sizes. The dressing will swell, causing contraction of the dressing edges, as it absorbs wound fluid and starts gelling.
- Apply a dry Exufiber dressing to the wound.
- Fixate with an appropriate secondary dressing. The choice depends on the exudate level.
- Compression therapy may be used in conjunction with Exufiber.
Things to remember while using Exufiber Dressing
- Do not use it on patients with known hypersensitivity to the dressing or its materials.
- Should infection develop during the use of the dressing, medical treatment should be initiated according to local clinical protocols. Infection is not a contraindication to the use of Exufiber dressing.
- Exufiber is not intended for dry wounds or full-thickness burns.
- Exufiber is for single-use only and should not be re-used. Re-use may lead to product deterioration or cross-contamination may occur.
- Sterile. Do not use it if the inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilize.
