The Proximel Ag is a 5-layer silver and silicone foam dressing with an adhesive border that helps protect the wound against a wide range of pathogens during healing. The five layers include a silicone wound contact layer, an antibacterial silver polyeurethrane foam layer, a nonwoven layer, a superabsorbent core, and protective backing.
The Proximel Ag Dressing has a 99.99% antimicrobial effect against a wide range of pathogens, including staph aureus, EF, strep pyrogenes, E. coli, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and klebsiella aerogenes.
This dressing offers a sustained release of silver over time, so patients can wear it for up to 7 days. The silicone adhesive is gentle on the skin and removes easily for repositioning the bandage.
