How to use Urinary Drainage Bags?
- Always make sure that the catheter and drainage bag tubing are connected firmly
- Periodic inspection of the system should be made to ensure urine is flowing freely
- Rusch Urinary Drainage Bag should be placed near the foot of the bed and below the level of the patient’s hip
- Excess tubing should be arranged in such a manner that it permits straight line (easy) flow of urine and does not allow the tubing to kink or fall below the level of drainage bag

How to clean a Rusch Bedside Drainage Bag?
- Wash your hands thoroughly before starting the process.
- Empty the bag into the toilet and rinse the bag with cold water twice.
- After putting cold water inside the bag, shake it rigorously for about 20 seconds and drain the water into the toilet.
- Now, add 2 parts of vinegar into 3 parts of water. Use this mixture to thoroughly cleanse the overnight catheter bag.
- Let the pouch dry before using it again.
