How to Use Swedish Knee Brace?
- Undo snaps and loosen straps
- With the patient seated and knee slightly flexed, place a brace on the leg
- Position posterior band behind knee and thigh strap above patella
- Slide the end of the thigh strap on to brace and secure the snap
- Repeat with the calf strap
Adjustments
- The strap behind the knee can be loosened or tightened to decrease or increase control of the knee
- Remove the screw and reposition it in a different location
- The position of the knee brace on the leg can be moved a little proximally or distally in order to comfortably distribute pressures
- The aluminum frame can be carefully re-shaped

- Use caution when having the patient stand, and evaluate the fit and function of the brace
- Check knee stability
- Clean with a damp cloth. Air dry completely before reapplying
